The Untold Story

This dead homeless man tricked Adolf Hitler into moving thousands of troops to the wrong place.

British intelligence officer Ewen Montagu gave him a fake identity, a Royal Marine major, complete with love letters and even an overdraft notice.

A submarine crew released his body off the coast of Spain, chained to a briefcase full of fake invasion plans.

Spanish authorities passed the documents to German intelligence. Hitler reinforced the wrong location, and the real invasion of Sicily succeeded with far fewer casualties.

His real name was Glyndwr Michael, a homeless man with no family to claim him. His grave still bears both names today. Follow for more true stories stranger than fiction.
