The Untold Story

The British Navy named two warships Meow and Bow-Wow. They were dead serious.

In 1915, Germany controlled a massive African lake, using armed steamers to block Allied territory on every shore.

So the Royal Navy assigned a commander once court-martialed for sinking his own ships to drag two motorboats three thousand miles through the African bush.

The boats rode trains through South Africa, floated down jungle rivers, and were hauled through the bush by oxen over mountains.

On Christmas Day 1915, they launched onto the lake and immediately attacked, capturing one German steamer and sinking another.
